El Aouana Island sits just offshore from the El Aouana coast, a small rocky island that gives the bay much of its postcard shape. It is often called the Island of Dreams locally, which is a bit grand for its size but understandable when the sea is calm and blue.
Most visitors admire it from the shore or from boats rather than treating it as a destination in itself. Pair it with the harbour, the lighthouse, and the corniche viewpoints for an easy half-day west of Jijel.
