Salon de Thé Tafsut

"Tafsut" means spring in Kabyle — a pointed reference to the Berber Spring of 1980 — and this teahouse leans into its cultural identity with a warm, wood-panelled interior and a menu of herbal teas made from mountain plants gathered in the Djurdjura. The thyme and sage infusions are especially good; the honey on the table comes from local beekeepers.

Popular for afternoon gatherings; a steady stream of families and couples comes through from mid-afternoon onwards. The baklava and makroud (date-filled semolina pastry) are made to a traditional recipe and are as good as any you'll find in the city.
