The Regional Museum holds the best collection of Kabyle material culture in the province — traditional jewellery, woven textiles, pottery, and everyday objects from rural Kabylie villages. The silver jewellery section is particularly striking: heavy fibulae (brooches), elaborate necklaces, and anklets that were markers of family wealth and status, many produced by silversmiths who were almost exclusively Jewish craftsmen in the pre-independence era.
The ethnographic displays do a good job of contextualising Kabyle social structure — the village assembly (tajmaât), the role of women as keepers of oral tradition, and the clan-based organisation that has kept Kabyle identity intact through successive waves of conquest. Labels are in French and increasingly in Tamazight, reflecting the ongoing project of linguistic reclamation.
