Saurimo's restaurant scene is limited but honest. The staples are muamba de galinha — chicken braised in palm oil with okra and garlic, served with funge (stiff cornmeal porridge) — and grilled fish from the Cassai River. Street food grills run in the market area in the evenings, and a cold Cuca beer is available at almost every establishment. A few Chinese-run restaurants have opened in recent years catering to the mining industry workers; they tend to be the best-stocked and most reliably open options in town.
