Saurimo is not a conventional tourist destination, but it rewards curiosity. The Chokwe cultural heritage runs deep here, and the landscape around the city — savannah plateau cut by river valleys — is genuinely beautiful. The main sights can be covered in a day; the real draw is spending time in the market and, if you can arrange it, visiting villages in the surrounding bush.
