Eating Out

Dschang's restaurant scene is driven largely by the university population — cheap, filling, and varied, with places serving Cameroonian staples alongside imported West African cuisines. Ndolé (bitter leaf stew with groundnuts), grilled fish from the highland streams, corn fufu, and brochettes (grilled meat skewers) are the staples. The market area near the town centre has the best concentration of informal eating places; the restaurant strip near the university caters more specifically to students and is busier in the evenings.
