Cairo International Airport is 23 km northeast of the city centre. Taxis are the most practical option; a reasonable fare to Downtown is around 100–150 Egyptian pounds (agree on the price before you get in). Buses and minibuses also run from both terminals to Midan Tahrir in the city centre. Cairo is also well connected by train to Alexandria (3 hours) and by air to all major Egyptian cities.
