Shopping in Hurghada divides neatly between the tourist souvenir circuit and a few genuinely worthwhile purchases. The bazaar in El Dahar, the old town, sells alabaster figurines, papyrus paintings, cotton clothing, and the usual pharaonic trinkets. Prices are negotiable and the atmosphere is reasonably relaxed by Egyptian standards — persistent but not overwhelming.
The Hurghada Marina Boulevard mixes international brands with a covered market section, and it's a decent place to browse for cotton clothing, spices, and gifts. For anything diving-related — equipment, wetsuits, underwater cameras — the strip around the marina has several well-stocked shops.
