Eating Out in Hurghada

Seafood is the natural choice in Hurghada and the quality is generally good — the catch is fresh, the Red Sea is generous, and grilled fish with rice and salad is available at almost every price point. The old town of El Dahar has a cluster of no-frills Egyptian restaurants serving koshary, ful medames, grilled meats, and fresh bread. These are significantly cheaper than the marina and Sakkala strip restaurants and more likely to be where locals actually eat.

The resort area has a predictable international spread — Italian, Chinese, Indian — and a handful of places serving reliably good food. Be wary of restaurants that push aggressively for tourists outside; the calmer spots usually deliver better value.
