Getting Around

Port Said is a relatively compact city and much of the interesting area is walkable from the waterfront. The corniche, the old European quarter, the canal entrance, and the lighthouse can all be covered on foot in half a day. The free ferry to Port Fuad leaves from a dock near the corniche and runs continuously throughout the day.

Taxis are plentiful and cheap. For Lake Manzala or more distant points, agree on a price before getting in. The city has no metro or tram system. Bicycles can sometimes be rented from hotels; the flat terrain makes cycling easy.
