The Marché Artisanal opposite the Cathedral is the easy one-stop for Gabonese carvings, masks, and basketwork. Most of the stallholders are Senegalese or Malian rather than Gabonese, and a fair amount of what is on offer comes from elsewhere in West Africa — but there are good Punu masks, Fang reliquary figures, and ebony carvings if you look. Bargain hard; start at about a third of the first quoted price.
