Beaches

Libreville's own beaches are unremarkable — the city sits on the estuary rather than the open Atlantic, the water is rarely clear, and the swimming is for the determined. The good beaches are short trips out: Pointe Denis across the estuary, Cap Estérias up the coast, and the Atlantic-facing strand of Pongara National Park. All three are easy day-or-overnight escapes; the city itself is for everything else.
