Léon-Mba International Airport is the main air gateway to Gabon, about 12 kilometres north of the city centre. Air France, Royal Air Maroc, Ethiopian, ASKY and Turkish all fly in; flying via Paris or Addis is usually the most reliable routing.
The Trans-Gabon railway runs from Libreville (technically Owendo, on the south side of the estuary) east across the country to Franceville. Two passenger trains a week each way. It is slow, scenic, and the standard way of reaching Lopé and Booué national parks.
Land borders with Cameroon (via Bitam) and Equatorial Guinea exist but are not straightforward; the Cameroon-side road can be very bad in the rainy season.
