Butre is small enough to walk in fifteen minutes. The only complication is the river: to reach the beach and Ellis Hideout you cross by dugout canoe, a short ride that costs a few cedis. The canoe runs on demand — call from either bank and the boatman will come.
Beyond the village itself there is no local transport. For day trips along the coast, shared taxis and tro-tros run from the junction on the main road; flag one down or ask at the village for a charter.
