Getting There

Abidjan's international airport is Félix Houphouët-Boigny International Airport (ABJ), located in Port-Bouët, south of the city. Air Côte d'Ivoire, Air France, Brussels Airlines, and several other carriers operate regular flights from Europe and across Africa. From the airport, taxis reach the city centre in 30–60 minutes depending on traffic.

Overland routes to Abidjan arrive via Accra (Ghana) to the east and Yamoussoukro to the north. Long-distance buses connect Abidjan to cities across the region; the main bus stations are at Adjamé (northern routes) and Gare de Bassam (eastern routes). Road travel across West Africa is practical but slow — border crossings and road conditions vary.

There is no passenger train service to Abidjan from outside the country, though discussions about reviving the Abidjan–Ouagadougou line have continued intermittently.
