Abidjan is large and modern with a few distinct areas worth exploring. Le Plateau, the business district, has the most dramatic skyline in West Africa. The Hotel Ivoire complex in Cocody is an institution — a vast resort hotel with skating rink, casino, and bowling alley. Banco National Park on the city's outskirts preserves 3,000 hectares of lowland tropical forest with picnic areas and an arboretum. The National Museum has strong African art collections.
