Muchingoi Viewpoint gives you the lake in its wider setting: a long alkaline strip in a dry basin, hemmed by slopes and thorn country. It is especially useful early or late in the day, when the low light makes the escarpment relief easier to read.
Bring binoculars if you have them. From above, flamingo flocks become moving colour along the shore, and the steam from the springs is easier to place in the landscape.
