Eating in Zomba runs to two main options: hotel and lodge restaurants serving a familiar mix of grilled chambo, beef curry, chicken, and chips, or the cheap nsima-and-relish stalls at the market and around the bus rank. The university area has a small range of cafés and student restaurants. The Zomba Gymkhana Club bar and grill is one of the more interesting full meals in the centre, particularly at lunch.
