Madeline Islands National Park is one of Dakar's best nature escapes because it sits almost in sight of the city yet feels offshore and protected. Boat trips usually land on Sarpan, the main island, where volcanic rock, baobabs, seabirds, and wave-cut cliffs make the visit feel wilder than its short distance from the Corniche suggests.
Access is controlled and weather-dependent, so this is not a place to improvise at the last minute. Arrange the park boat and guide, bring sun protection and water, and treat the island as a fragile reserve rather than a beach picnic spot.
