Saly has the right conditions for a range of watersports — consistent Atlantic winds, warm water, and a reasonably long beach. The standard package-resort offerings are all here: jet-skiing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, paddleboarding, and snorkelling excursions to nearby reefs.
Windsurfing and kitesurfing are well catered for, with the afternoon trade winds picking up reliably. Several watersports centres operate from the beach and offer equipment hire and lessons. Snorkelling trips go out to rocky outcrops and reefs a short distance offshore where colourful reef fish are plentiful, though visibility varies with the season. The best snorkelling is generally from November to May, outside the rainy season when river runoff can reduce clarity.
