Spiga d'Oro has been on Florida Road for more than 30 years and remains one of the busiest restaurants in Durban. The menu is straight Italian — pizza, pasta, grilled fish — done well and unfussily. The room is loud, the service is fast, and the place does not really empty out until well after midnight.
It is a Durban rite of passage to end a night here with a pizza and a bottle of house red. Walk-ins generally find a table; book if you are a group on a Friday or Saturday.
