Bars and Cafes

Lomé has an excellent low-key drinking culture. The standard form is the maquis — an open-air bar with cheap plastic chairs, ice-cold Awoyo or Castel beer, grilled fish or chicken, and music loud enough to dance to. The largest cluster is around Dékon and along the boulevard between the cathedral and the port. A few more polished bars in Kodjoviakopé cater to expats. The rooftop at the Hôtel 2 Février is the smart sundowner option.
