Aïn Doura Baths

The Aïn Doura Baths sit on the lower terraces of Dougga, taking their name from the natural spring (aïn) that fed them. The complex is smaller than the Licinian Baths but unusually well preserved: paving stones in place, mosaic fragments still visible, and the channels that brought water down the hillside intact.

The site is also one of the quieter corners of Dougga and a good spot to sit in the shade of a wall for ten minutes between the busier monuments. Look for the latrines just east of the bath block — a long stone bench with row after row of seat-holes, the kind of mundane survival that brings the ancient city closer than any temple.
