Tunisia is a Muslim country and alcohol is not widely available in the south. Ghomrassen has no bar scene. What it does have are traditional tea houses — café maure — where mint tea and small pastries are served throughout the day. These are the social centres of the town, and a good place to rest and watch life go by.
