The largest park in central Harare, stretching out beside the National Gallery of Zimbabwe. Tall jacaranda and msasa trees shade wide lawns where office workers eat lunch and families gather on weekends. A small rainforest area with a stream running through it feels surprisingly wild for the middle of a city.
The park hosts the Harare International Festival of the Arts (HIFA) each spring — for a week the gardens fill with stages, food stalls, and performances from across the continent. Outside festival season it is a quiet, pleasant place to sit after visiting the gallery next door. Free entry.
