Cox's Bazar has a domestic airport (IATA: CXB) about 3 kilometres from the town centre, with regular Biman Bangladesh, US-Bangla, and Novoair flights from Dhaka. The flight takes around one hour and is the most practical option for most international visitors. Book ahead during peak season as flights fill up.
By road from Dhaka, air-conditioned coaches take 10 to 12 hours; the journey from Chittagong is around 4 hours. Several bus companies run overnight services from Dhaka that arrive in the morning. Cox's Bazar now has a railway station — a new line connecting it to the national rail network via Chittagong was completed in recent years, with the journey from Chittagong taking roughly 5 hours by train. Trains are cheaper and more comfortable than buses, though slower. The bus terminal and railway station are on the east side of town, about 3 kilometres from the beach.
