Ochheuteal Beach

Sihanoukville's main beach with seafood shacks and bars

The longest and most developed of Sihanoukville's beaches, stretching several kilometers with a line of seafood restaurants and beach bars along its length. The northern end is busy and touristy, with touts and loud music; the southern end, sometimes called Serendipity Beach, is livelier at night with backpacker bars.

The seafood here is cheap and fresh — grilled squid, crab, and prawns served at plastic tables on the sand. Deck chairs and umbrellas are available from the restaurants if you order food or drinks. The water is warm year-round but can get murky in the rainy season. Sunsets over the Gulf of Thailand are reliably good.
