Sihanoukville is about four hours by road from Phnom Penh. The new expressway, opened in 2022, has cut what used to be a five- to six-hour slog to a comfortable drive. Bus, minivan, and private taxi services all run the route many times a day.
Sihanoukville International Airport (KOS), about 18 km east of the city, has flights from Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and a handful of Chinese cities. The terminal was rebuilt as part of the casino boom and is now one of the larger airports in the country.
By boat, ferries link Sihanoukville's Serendipity Pier with the islands several times a day. There is no scheduled passenger service to other Cambodian or Vietnamese coastal towns.
