Getting There

Tianzhu Mountain is accessed via Anqing, which has both an airport with connections to major Chinese cities and rail connections on the Hefei–Jiujiang line. From Anqing, buses serve Qianshan County and the mountain base; the journey takes around ninety minutes. High-speed rail from Hefei to Anqing takes about an hour, making a day trip from the provincial capital feasible, though an overnight stay at the mountain base gives a better experience.

Two main ascent routes are available. The eastern route is steeper and more scenically dramatic; the western route is longer and somewhat less demanding. A cable car provides access to the upper mountain for those who prefer not to hike the full ascent. The mountain sees most visitors from April through October; the peak months of July and August are crowded and hot at the base, though significantly cooler at altitude.
