Wuhu rewards a half-day or full day of exploration for anyone passing through the Yangtze corridor. The city does not have the density of sights that would justify a dedicated trip, but it has enough genuine character — good food, a pleasant lakefront, some interesting historical buildings — to make it worth more than a transit stop.
