The Ancient Cliff Dwellings are wooden structures tucked into a high crack in the cliffs of Mount Wuyi. They were once reached by pulley, which gives you a sense of how deliberately remote the site was.
You cannot visit the dwellings themselves, but they can be seen from the trail. They are worth looking for as part of a wider day in the Wuyi scenery area, especially if you are interested in the older human history hidden among the cliffs.
