Liuzhou sits on the main rail line between Guilin and Nanning, making it an easy stop on any journey between the two. High-speed G-trains run frequently — the journey from Guilin takes about 45 minutes, from Nanning about 50 minutes. The main railway station, Liuzhou Station, is in the city centre.
The city also has connections to Guiyang and Guangzhou, making it a reasonable hub for moving between Guangxi and the provinces to the north and east. Long-distance buses serve destinations that the high-speed rail doesn't reach.
Within the city, taxis and rideshare apps (DiDi) are the practical transport. The karst peaks and Liu River make cycling an attractive option for getting around — bikes are available through shared bike schemes.
