Tangshan is on the Beijing–Shenyang high-speed rail corridor and has fast connections to Beijing (about one hour), Qinhuangdao (about thirty minutes), and further northeast to Shenyang. The main station is Tangshan North station, on the edge of the city; conventional trains also stop at the central Tangshan station.
The city is also accessible by expressway from Beijing and Tianjin, and can be reached by bus from both.
