The nearest mainline station is Wudangshan, on the high-speed rail line between Wuhan and Xi'an; the journey from Wuhan takes about three and a half hours. From the station, buses and taxis run to the scenic area entrance and to Wudangshan town at the base of the mountain, about 15 kilometres away.
From Shiyan, the nearest city, the mountain is about an hour by bus or taxi. If flying, Shiyan Wudangshan Airport has connections to Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. Admission to the scenic area is separate from admission to the individual temple complexes; the combined ticket for the full mountain is the most economical choice for visitors spending more than a day.
