Ligongdi is a long causeway and lakeside district on Jinji Lake, showing Suzhou's newer face rather than its classical-garden image. Restaurants, bars, galleries, and waterfront paths line the lake, with skyline views back toward the Suzhou Industrial Park.
It is most enjoyable in the evening, when the lights come on and the heat drops. This is not old Suzhou, and that is the point: Ligongdi gives visitors a clean, contemporary counterweight to canals, gardens, and Ming-era lanes.
