Things to Do

Most visitors treat Jiujiang as the gateway to Lushan mountain and spend little time in the city itself. That is a missed opportunity. Stone Bell Hill, the foreign concession riverfront, and Poyang Lake's edge all reward a day's exploration, and the city's combination of river geography, colonial-era architecture, and classical Chinese literary associations gives it a layered character that more-visited cities lack.
