Sanqingshan is the reason many travelers pass through Shangrao at all. The mountain is a UNESCO-listed granite landscape of pillars, ridges, strange rock forms, and cloud views, with Taoist associations layered onto the scenery.
Cable cars make the high routes more accessible than the word mountain might suggest, but the site still needs most of a day once transport is included. If you can spare the time, this is the standout natural sight in the Shangrao area rather than just another scenic park.
