Shangrao's own sights are secondary to the two major draws in its vicinity: Sanqingshan and the Wuyuan villages. Within the city, Guifeng Scenic Area is the most interesting stop — the Danxia sandstone formations are dramatic and undervisited. The old town streets of Xinzhou and the Shangrao Concentration Camp memorial site offer more specific reasons to linger in the city itself.
