Changchun is a major stop on the high-speed rail network linking Beijing, Shenyang, Harbin, and the cities of the northeast. From Beijing, the journey takes under four hours; from Shenyang, about ninety minutes. Jilin City is forty minutes away by high-speed train, making it practical as a day trip from Changchun or vice versa.
Changchun Longjia International Airport handles domestic flights from most major Chinese cities, plus some international routes. The airport is east of the city and connected by rail link to the city centre. Changchun is also served by the overnight train network from further destinations that are not yet fully connected by high-speed rail.
From Changchun, buses and trains serve the rest of Jilin Province. Baicheng is about five hours northwest; Baishan and the Changbaishan access town of Baihe require the better part of a day but are reachable by train.
