Chengdu is famous across China for its teahouse culture, and an afternoon spent drinking jasmine tea, eating sunflower seeds and watching old men play mahjong is one of the city's signature experiences. The People's Park teahouse and the courtyards around Wenshu Monastery are classic spots.
