Chaoyin Temple is a Ming-dynasty temple near the Hai River mouth in Binhai. Founded in 1404, it was once known as Nanhaidasi Temple or Shuangshan Temple and is unusual for facing east toward the river and sea.
The temple is one of the few older cultural sites in the former Tanggu district that is open to visitors. It works best as part of a Binhai day rather than as a stand-alone trip from central Tianjin.
