Tianjin's a great place. Recommended is a walk around the Concession Areas — there are numerous districts where Europeans lived during occupation at the start of the 20th century, including British, American, Italian, French and Russian concessions. Tianjin's architecture has a great European influence as a result, and many of the banks and public buildings were once official concession buildings.
