Dagukou Forts

The Dagukou Forts, also known as the Taku Forts, guarded the Hai River approach to Tianjin and played major roles in the Opium Wars and the Boxer Rebellion. Most of the original fortifications were dismantled, but the site includes restored remains and a ruins museum with cannons and exhibits on the battles around the river mouth. It is a worthwhile history stop for travellers already visiting Binhai.
