The Yandang Mountains are organized into several separately ticketed scenic areas, each requiring two to four hours to explore properly. Lingfeng has the most dramatic rock formations and the cave temple; Dalongqiu has the highest waterfall; Lingyan has the theatrical cliffs and the Nine-Storey Temple. Most visitors combine two or three areas in a full day. An overnight in the valley gives time to explore the quieter outer sections that see few visitors.
