Byzantine Cafe

A good spot for coffee or an early evening drink in the old city, the Byzantine Cafe sits in a restored old building near the Archbishop's Palace with outdoor seating under stone arches. The coffee is strong in the Greek-Cypriot tradition — order a Cypriot coffee (similar to Greek/Turkish), served in a small cup with a glass of water. Pastries and light food are available. The neighbourhood is quieter and more authentically residential than the Laiki Ytonia tourist strip, and the cafe draws a good mix of locals and visitors.
