The Mevlevi Tekke is a 17th-century former Dervish monastery just inside the Kyrenia Gate, one of the most atmospheric small museums in North Nicosia. The restored building houses exhibits on Ottoman-era daily life, traditional handicrafts, and the whirling dervish order that once used this space for their ceremonies. Six tombs of Mevlevi sheikhs stand in the garden.
The collection includes period costumes, musical instruments, and household objects. The building itself, with its serene courtyard, is as much the attraction as the displays inside. Worth combining with a walk through the old city walls nearby.
