Ashok Sagar is a reservoir lake on the southwestern edge of Nizamabad, created by a dam on the Alisagar stream. It is a popular evening destination for local residents — a pleasant place to walk along the embankment, watch the light change over the water, and escape the heat and noise of the city centre.
The lake has a small park area and is particularly busy on weekends when families come to enjoy the open space. Boating is sometimes available. The reservoir also provides part of Nizamabad's water supply, so the area is kept relatively clean. It is best in the cooler months from November to February.
