The principal mosque of Vijayawada, in the One Town (Old Town) area near the river. It is named for the famous Hazratbal shrine in Kashmir and is said to house a relic of the Prophet, displayed on special religious occasions. The mosque is modest in scale but the centre of the city's small but old Muslim community.
The streets around the mosque are worth a wander — narrow lanes, tea stalls, and a different texture from the modern parts of the city.
