Hatgadh Fort sits above Saputara near the Gujarat-Maharashtra border, using the ridge line more for command of the surrounding hills than for ornamental effect. The surviving walls are rough, but the position is excellent, with broad views across the Dang highlands.
It is best approached as a short hill walk and viewpoint rather than as a fully preserved fort. Wear shoes with grip, start early in hot weather, and expect simple conditions at the top. The landscape is the reason to go.
