Beas Kund is a high alpine basin above the Solang Valley, traditionally identified as the source area of the Beas River. For travelers in Manali it is best known as a trek: a route through meadows, moraine, and mountain views that feels properly Himalayan without requiring a long expedition.
The walk still deserves respect. Weather changes fast, altitude matters, and snow can linger, so local advice and current trail conditions are important. In the right season, though, Beas Kund is one of the most rewarding ways to get beyond Manali's traffic and into the mountains that define the town.
